SDC MatriX is hosting TWO Phase 1 Head-Down Bigway Skills camps at Skydive Sebastian this winter.

Phase 1 camps are part of the pipeline to the Vertical World Record 200-way in 2028.
Training has begun.
These small Phase 1 Camps will offer participants the opportunity to safely build the essential skills, awareness, and confidence required to participate in larger formations.
These camps are for intermediate to advanced vertical flyers who are interested in learning bigway skills and also for experienced flyers who want to stay current and have fun.
We will be following the SOP’s set forth by the VWR organizers.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
🔅Single plane, single point 10-14 ways from 13,000ft
🔅10 jumps over 2 full days – DZ start to sunset both days
🔅Participants may be asked to fly in the base for one or two jumps.
🔅Detailed pre-jump seminar on the fundamentals and SOP’s
🔅Thorough preps, walks, and debriefs
🔅 Outside video
🔅 Snacks
REQUIREMENTS:
🌀Freefly friendly rig, AAD, & audible
🌀Must be able to stay head-down for the entire skydive
🌀Experience flying head-down safely and on-level in groups of 3-6 required.
🌀Must be able to approach a group head-down
🌀Must be able to execute a head-down break off by turning 180* in place and moving away safely

🔸Dialing in approaches – floating and diving
🔸Controlled flying in a larger group
🔸 Levels, sight pictures, referencing
🔸Break offs
🔸Heavy focus on understanding the fundamentals

Refunds will only be issued for jumps not completed due to weather/injury/DZ issues.
Safety is our main priority. If you are behaving in an unsafe manner in the plane, in freefall, under canopy, or on the ground you may be asked to sit down with no refund. Please be honest with your self assessment of skill level.

ABOUT THE HOSTS:
Joey Baker has been on the Big Way circuit for over a decade.
He holds eleven Head-Down state records including a 62-way in Florida and 103-way in California, three multi-plane Head-Up state records, and one Belly state record. He holds the current Head-Down World Record 174-way, and has participated in the 2015, 2018, 2022, and 2025 Vertical World Record attempts.
Lindsay Fener doesn’t have anything close to that level of experience but is dedicated to setting a solid base for everyone to practice.
